Submission Requirements

Submissions must include the following information to be considered:

  • Key Contact/Submitter Information
  • Session Title (10 word maximum)
  • Session Format
  • Learning Track
  • Target Attendee Experience Level
  • Geographic Applicability
  • Minimum of Three Learning Objectives (Maximum of Five)
    • At the culmination of the session, what will attendees be able to do
    • Must be participant-oriented, observerable and measurable
  • Session Description (75 word maximum)
    • Present the business problem and explain how to solve it. the impact of the solution and what attendees will learn? Think of this as the "marketing summary" (the "sizzle") that will be used to promote the session to potential attendees. 
  • Have you presented this session before? If yes, where?
  • What is your engagement plan during your session with the participants?
  • What resource(s) do you plan to share with participants?
  • Presenter/Panelist Information
    • Limited to three presenters and one (optional moderator)
    • Contact information and names required for all presenters (we cannot accommodate TBD)
    • Short Bio (100 word maximum)
      • Write about yourself in the third person. List your current position/title and a brief mention of work history/experience. Include academic qualifications, awards, and published work. State WorldatWork credentials.
    • Professional Headshot (Minimum of 150dpi and 350x350px. Image should be square or rectangle)

Session Formats

Sessions are 60 minutes to reflect our attendees' desire for more in-depth and detailed information.

Debate

One moderator and no more than two speakers will have an interactive lively discussion in which they will put forth opposing views on the session topic. (Max. 2 presenters plus 1 moderator)

Interactive Panel

Panelists present case studies from multiple perspectives facilitated by a moderator. The moderator will facilitate a formal Q&A or polling with the audience and panelists for a minimum of 15 minutes. (Max. 3 presenters plus 1 moderator)

Interview

The moderator questions the presenter on the session topic for approximately three-fourths of the time, after which the floor is opened for questions from the audience. (Max. 1 presenter plus 1 moderator)

Presentation

An outcomes-focused session on a specific topic—showcasing best practices, lessons learned “in the trenches,” and actionable insights. (Max. 3 presenters)

Presenter Types

Academic

Full or part-time professor with no other source of employment.

Consultant

A professional hired to provide expert advice to multiple clients or organizations. Does not include internal consultants (see practitioner definition).

Examples: Partner, Managing Director, Principal, Practice Leader, Attorney

Non-Profit Organization Representative

Employee at a non-profit organization.

Practitioner

“Internal” professionals accountable to influence or deliver rewards for that one specific organization.*  

Examples: SVP Total Rewards, Manager, Compensation Manager, Director Employee Benefits, CHRO, Financial Analyst, HR Business Partner, Benefits Specialist, Compensation Committee Chair, Chief Legal Officer, Recruiter.

*Excludes those working in professional services supporting external customers.

Service Partner

A supplier or someone who works for a company that provides organizations with services other than management consulting (see consultant definition).

Examples: IT solutions provider, payroll processing provider, recognition outsource provider, insurance agent, VP Product Development, Sales Director, Account Executive

Our submission process is very competitive. The content advisory committee reviews and scores proposals to determine selections based on the proposal and speaker priorities mentioned above. The learning objectives and session description provided are critical to the selection process. The committee relies on this information to understand the experience that will be delivered to attendees and is critical to the marketing of the event to ensure optimal attendance at your session. Speaker information is essential to understand the speaking style, professional expertise and diversity of perspective.

We are interested in sessions that address current and emerging sales compensation, sales operations and sales analytics challenges and align with the event theme. Session proposals that include sales pitches or lead generation tactics will not be accepted.

    • We want to deliver an engaging audience experience with creative learning methods and tangible takeaways that empower attendees to drive change in their organizations.  
  • Thought Leadership  
    • We value an educational learning experience that highlights thought leadership and practical solutions and does not promote commercial content and delivery.  
  • Innovative, Inspiring and Informative Content     
    • We seek innovative ideas, research and leading-edge content that encourages attendees to view today’s challenges from a new perspective. 
  • Timely, Original Content  
    • We look for fresh, original and current content that addresses the current environment.
    • No previously shared presentations, please.  
  • Relevant Topics  
    • Successful proposals are based on relevant sales compensation, operations or analytics topics, concepts or ideas, and not on products, services or proprietary information. 

Yes. However, we ask that you receive confirmation from the presenter/s that they are interested in speaking at Sales Comp'23 prior to submitting. Note that you will be required to provide all session and speaker details for the proposal.

  • Submit a complete proposal including names of all speakers who will be a part of the session. 
  • Before submitting a proposal to speak, make sure all speakers are available and holding the conference dates of August 21-23, 2023 until notified of your proposal status. 
  • Communicate the accept/decline status of the session proposal to all presenters.
  • Passion for your work and impact that comes from creative sales compensation strategic leadership. 
  • Deep understanding of sales compensation, sales operations, and sales analytics strategies.   
  • Ability to provoke thought and invite attendees to participate in highly interactive conversations.    
  • Professional and firsthand experiences to educate and interact with attendees.    
  • Ability to understand and relate to challenges faced by sales compensation, sales operations and sales analytics professionals.    
  • Ability to share insights into how today’s changing landscape will affect the future of sales compensation work.   
  • Diversity in perspective including career field, company and industry type, and demographic representation.
  • Present in-person at Sales Comp'23 in Chicago, August 21-23, 2023.
  • Create fresh, original, unique, and current content aimed to solve today’s problems. Please no replays of webinars or other presentations.
  • Tailor messaging to address audience needs.
  • Before you submit a proposal to speak, please make sure all speakers are available and hold the event dates/time on their calendars.
  • Attend presenter training/prep meetings and meet all deadlines.
  • Absolutely no selling or lead generation in content sessions is allowed. WorldatWork offers several paid sponsored sessions as an opportunity to feature your organization and showcase your thought leadership. If interested, please contact visibility@worldatwork.org for more information.
