Robert J. (Bob) Kelly is chairman and founder of the Sales Management Association (www.salesmanagement.org), a global, cross-industry association for sales leadership and sales force effectiveness practitioners. The Sales Management Association serves members in 100+ countries with benchmarking research, training, and peer networking, and hosts events focused in sales force effectiveness, including the Sales Force Productivity Conference (www.salesmanagementconference.com).

Bob was previously vice president of sales operations and strategy at Genuine Parts Company’s (NYSE: GPC) where he supported the firm’s office supplies division, an operating division with 40 distribution centers and annual revenue in excess of US$1.8 billion. Bob also worked in marketing strategy for MCI WorldCom, and as a management consultant with The Alexander Group.

Bob adjunct professor of marketing at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, where he teaches a sales management effectiveness course to MBA students. He is also a visiting adjunct professor at University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business, where he teaches a graduate course in Sales Operations as part of Bauer’s MS in Sales Leadership graduate degree program.
